Hi! I am joining your forum because I was on another one with some rather opinionated and judgemental people...I am hoping that you are all a little more accepting!
Here's my story: We got our baby dog when she was only 8 weeks old. She had worms. She came from a "breeder" (term used extremely loosely) who was not really a breeder. She ended up having both round and tape worms. She was sick all the time with digestive problems. We ended up spending approximatly $3000 in the first year of her life to keep her well. She almost died at 6 months due to some unknown illness.
I kept posting about these things and eventually people started to think it was something I was doing, which made me feel even worse about the situation.
As a first time puppy owner, to top it off, my house wasn't 100% puppy proof and little Zoe did what every other puppy does: she ate everything in sight. And after posting that she'd gotten into some chocolate one time, I received a nasty email from a moderator telling me what an irresponsible pet owner I was. That really hurt.
My dog is so important to me. I was angry but didn't leave the forum because I didn't think that her nasty judgement needed justification. however, I am all but ignored on the site now so there isn't a whole lot of point to posting anymore.
I want everyone here to know that I would never intentionally put my dog in harms way and had done everything possible to make sure she is happy and healthy.
We are finally healthy again.....at her last visit, the vet said she looks as good as he's ever seen her. Whatever damage was done by the "breeder" has been undone and I think Zoe can move on to be a healthy and happy Boxer Baby!
So glad to be here....can't wait to meet you all!
