How do I keep him for going potty in certain areas?

Help!!  Bonzer has got a horrible habit of pooping right at the bottom of our stairs!!  He only did this as the snow started and we have made a HUGE shoveled area for him to go.  He just goes immediately as he gets to the bottom of the stairs.  SOmeone told me there is a spray that you can put where you don't want them to go, anyone have any clues?  It was not so bad until I fell going down the stairs and landed in it. The snow is melting today and I have such a mess!! Please help!!

I was laughing my butt off reading this... Im so sorry, its not funny but it is!
Oh lord, yea I laughed too, couldn't help it..I'm assuming you mean the steps outside? It could be that he doesn't like the snow, which obviously he will have to get used to...Not sure what you could spray on your steps to keep him from doing that, but I'm sure someone will know
Is he a puppy?  Can you carry him before you get to the bottom of the stairs...

I can laugh now that  I am not laying at the bottom of the stairs.  Its ok though... my whole family got a kick out of it!  We have a deck... and then like 10 stairs.  He is 6 months old and weighs 50 pounds so I can't carry him.  We shoveled him out a spot next to the stairs he walks all around but only poops right at the bottom of the stairs!!  Is there anything that dogs do not like the smell of that I could put there or anything like that?  It is horrible!!
have you tried  petsmart? i know when i had my cocker spaniel and couldnt house break him we bought a thing called "no elimate" or somthing.. that kept them from going there.

im confused is he pooping indoors?..
No it is outdoors right at the bottom of the stairs that come of our deck.
