Hey, I was wondering typically how much a 7 week old boxer pup should weigh?  I was talking to our breeder today and she said that our pup roughly weighs 10 lbs. I didn't know if it was normal.  Thanks!

at 7 weeks jetta was about 6 lbs...but she had worms so i don't know what is "normal"  10 lbs sounds good/large to me

That's really small! Yikes! how big of a boy is he now?  How much did he weigh when you brought him home at 8 weeks?

he was home at 6 weeks. and he was a 2.6 lbs. now he's somewhere around 60 lbs, and exactly in the middle of breed standard for height.
so much for all that time I spent worried about him not growing to be a big dog!

There's really no norm for a pup - they all grow differently & are various sizes at birth. But I think 10lbs. is a good, healthy weight.

On another note -- aren't you excited?! One more week before you bring your new pup home, right?! <

Funny, I was talking with Rhonda about that when I went to see the pups and she pretty much said the same thing...But like Dieselsmom said, every puppy is different, if you have one that doesn't weigh that, it's really nothing to be alarmed at, they all grow differently

I have heard the same, as long as they are healthy, weight is a genetic thing.
I had to laugh when the breeder that sold Ashley to me told me she was the "runt" of the litter...oh heaveans..how many times have you heard of the runt becoming the largest of the pups?? Ashley at 17 weeks is already 28lbs....I think they make up for lost teat time once they get their own food!!  :lol:

Marduk was 8 lbs at 6 weeks. He is 9 weeks now and is 15 lbs. His dad was about 75-80 lbs and gorgeous. We expect him to be about the same. My previous Boxer, Molly, was a tall but lean girl maxing out at about 55lbs.
