Ok, so Bo is a sweetie...when he is around those he knows...
however...strange dogs and people he will bark at...and will try to bite strange dogs.  
With socializing a puppy..there is only so much damage a pup can do...Bo is big...and strong...how is the best way to go about safely socializing him with other people and dogs?

I think the only save way would be with an experienced obedience trainer, it is a small price to pay for long time happiness with Bo. Laws very from state to state but here if a dog is dog aggressive and has multiple occurances with fighting and biting he can be taken away or worse put down. This is only my opinion but I hope it helps.

Maybe an obedience class or if it's REAL bad, contact a trainer and work 1 on 1 with the trainer. If you force it, it can get worse.

as I stated, the next class starts in January...but in the meantime I need ideas before January...

Well I would have to say that you are going to have to be very consistent and watch his behavior around other dogs, keep him on a short leash, and give him a correction before he even attemps to get into a fight. Watch the way he looks at another dogor stares him down, his stance, growling or showing teeth, ect. I would also suggest getting him neutered ASAP.
