Our 1 yr old Boxer has a food allergy...at least we think.  The Vet has us on very expensive Hypoallergenic food.  Does anyone know of some Hypoallergenic foods from Petsmart etc... that may be comparable but less expensive?

Thanks

What food are you feeding now?  There are alternatives, but if your dog is doing well on the current food you would have to find something very comparable.

Dogs just hate IVD that is all there is to it!!!!  I would try Pro Plan Selects Sensitive skin and stomach or the salmon and rice formula....unless you know for a fact he is allergic to the ingredi's that are in it!

Sharon ^^^ is a vet, so great advice from her!

Also, I think it would be helpful to know which ingredietn(s) your dog is allergic to.  I know my Henry can't tolerate chicken or turkey, so we get food w/out those things in it.  We are now using the ProPlan sensitive skin and stomach.   It has  salmon and potatoes in it.  If it's a corn issue, or other grain, you could read food lables and not get food with those things in it.

Has your vet said what pup is allergic to?  Chicken, corn, grains, etc.?
Good luck and keep us posted! :D
