After almost a week of being on Solid Gold hund n flocken Brodi is now back to icky poops. I noticed a few days ago it was becoming mush but today it has no form pretty close to diarrhea yet again (I know gross, sorry) but he is only going like 4 times a day compared to the 8 times when he was on Canidae. Problem is..I don't know if this is from the food, the possible coccidia he might have or the sudden switch of foods. He did 3 days straight of boiled chicken and rice and I think that has been the only time I have seen firm stools since this ordeal has begun. The vet wasn't 100% sure his diarrhea was from coccidia or the Canidae and since he had the runs so bad to change his food completely after a few days on the bland diet. I been giving him a little pumpkin with his food each morning with a bit of yogurt at night but nothing is helping. He only has 2 days left on the Albon for the coccidia so now I'm at a loss on what to do next.  All I want is my lil guy to have firm poopers again getting sick of cleaning up the yard with the hose.  Suggestions or advice anyone?

Maddie was notorious for having the runs when switching foods, which we seem to be doing a lot of within the past year and a half! Still have not found a food...Anyway, for the last food switch I used this stuff from Eagle Pack called Holistic transition. OMG...I could not believe that after one use, the next time she pooped she had firm solid stool. I was amazed! They also have a product called Holistic Solution, it's full of prebiotics, probiotics and digestive enzymes. It is amazing stuff. I would toss the pumpkin and give it a try. Here is a link to see if you can get it anywhere near you, or order online. If not, and you want to try it, just pm me and I can pick you up some at my pet shop and send it to you. It's amazing stuff!

I am thinking the meds may be having an effect on his tummy.   See how he does when he is off it (meds).  There is alos something called "Fast Tract GI"  which is a bandaid to help firm up the runs.

What are the possible side effects of Albon:
Sulfa crystals may appear in the animal's urine. The pet should be allowed to drink plenty of water while taking this medication. Other side effects that may occur include KCS or dry eye, anemia, fever, loss of appetite, vomiting or diarrhea, joint inflammation, kidney damage and skin rash.

I had all those same problems with Canidea, the switch to Hudchen Flocken as well.  Bruce was also on meds for kennel cough and is still on them for bronchitis.  After switching the food, we are still doing great here!

Thank you Lisa! The store that carries their food had it so I picked some up yesterday morning and we had the first somewhat normal poo that afternoon YAY!!!! Same for this morning, I mean it's still kind of mushy but not puddles so I guess that's a start. Also where do I buy fast tract GI? I would like to get some to have on hand with the way his poops have been.  Now I have another question.. His vet called me last night to see how he was doing and I told her about the diarrhea but also told her the stuff I bought and they are now getting better..slowly. She wants me to bring in another stool sample to run a snap test on it to see if he could have Giardia because the Albon won't help that. But there is a good chance it could come back negative just like coccidia meaning she would still like to treat him with metronidazole which in rare cases can be toxic. All this crap can't be good for him! If he had giardia his poops wouldn't be looking better would they? I just don't want to keep giving him meds for something he might not even have especially when it can be toxic even if it's a slim chance, with the way my luck has been lately he would fall into that slim chance.  Thanks guys I really do appreciate all the help :D
