whats the best way to teach a boxer to jump on command, when your holdong a sitck out for him to jump for , or for him to jump over things instead of running around them when he is playing with other dogs?
lol..this is a new one! Usually it's the opposite, "how do I stop my boxer from jumping?" I don't know about that one...Maddie is on springs all the time. Maybe someone else will have a better answer for you.
I would assume that if you are holding a stick out for him and he jumps at it, I would say the command "jump" every time he does it and praise and treat when he does.
Why do you want him to jump?
Why would you want to teach that as a command? Most boxers know jump way too well. Unless you are planning on going into Agility, which is altogether different I don't understand...With Angel all I have to do is pat my chest and she jumps, but it's not something I encourage, she has to wait for me to give her the signal.
