Hi.  Thanks in advance for all of the advice I have been given over the past few weeks.  Annie is really making herself at home and we love her lots.  Just wish she wouldn't shed so much, but I guess that is just one negative to an otherwise great dog!

I have a question about the Kong.  I show one today and it looks cool and I know many of you use them.  How does it work? Is it messy?  I don't understand how it works.  I know you put the snack in the middle and they work to get it out.  But what if it is peanut butter or yogurt?  Doesn't that make a mess?  Do you just use it in the kitchen?

She loves to chew and I would love to get something that she cannot destory.   Any suggestions on that?  I swear she has eatten up all of the toys we have bought her, iincluding my son's stuffed animals!  She is so funny, she'll grab one and swing it around and play with it all day.  It would be ok, except she tears out all of the stuffing!

What about good treats?

Thanks again!

Michelle, mom to one sweet Annie!

What most of us do is take a bit of Peanut Butter & yogurt, fill it a bit, then freeze for a couple hours..That way ot takes the, longer to get the filling out...As far as chewing, look at tough toys and such, like Nylabones..Angel is a champion chewer and those really keep her teeth so nice and white...As far as toys, I'm kinda partial to Ruffians & Cuz, they are a very hard plastic, they do have squeakers in them, but not as easily destroyed as the plush toys..Tuffies are also supposed to be good as well

They LOVE kongs. Any dog can be calmed by this (at least for the time being) IMO. We just put a little peanut butter in there for my parents 2 labs at home before we leave the house. It keeps them distracted and busy, not to mention very happy for the treat! They had separation anxiety and this really did kind of calm their fear a bit. I've not tried to leave my just adopted boxer home by himself yet with the kong though. He loved it when I gave it to him the other day, so I'm hoping for good results when I leave the house. Otherwise he barks. : /
