Our 8 y/o had a lump removed from his hind leg 4 days ago. We Haven't received the biopsy results as of yet but yesterday his leg started swelling and it has continued to swell today. He is eating and drinking just fine and is able to walk on it. I'm concerned with the redness, swelling and it is warm to the touch.
This is his first surgery of this nature.
Any advice.

I agree that it sounds like an infection. Our puppy ended up with an infection after surgery- not from the surgery but from something in our yard that was able to get inside him through the wound.
We noticed the swelling and he had a slight fever so the vet put him on antibiotics immediately. He ended up with a sack that had to drain. He never showed signs of any of it affecting him- ate normal, drank, wanted to play (which we were limiting). If it is an infection, the sooner it is found and treated the better for your baby.

Please let us know how he's doing.
