Well this weekend Macy had a lot of firsts and was fantastic.  My husband called me on Friday and said that he need to help a coworker and his wife wanted me to come and hang out.  I said sure on one condition considering I had been busy all day and had not spent any time with Macy I wanted to bring her with me.  Crystal said sure and so we went for her first visit with a friend.  She did so well.  Crystal and Jimmy have a dog Lilac and Macy and her got along really well.  Crystal loved her so much she offered to babysit for me when we go out of town which is really nice because I would just take her to their house and I know how she acts over there.

Second, we had to go out of town to help some other friends and they let us bring her with us.  As you all know I do not kennel her at ALL I don't even own a kennel for her yet.  Anyway she did so well.  She had a two hour car ride and seemed to love it.  She actually slept most of the time in the back seat.  When we got there she did her usually sniffing around but then settled right in and acted as if she never left home.  We took everything she need to be comfortable i.e. her pillow blanket and bone.  The only real problem we had was when we all left the house we had to chain her up and she did not like that at all but that was to be expected considering she is never chained at home.

Anyway wanted to let everyone know how things were going.  She has made me so happy because you always worry as a puppies mamma that they will not behave and you will never be able to take them anywhere but she proved to me this weekend that she adjusts to just about anything and I can most likely take her anywhere with me.  Which leads me to a questions.  Has anyone ever taken one on a plane and how much did it cost? I have to fly it Idaho in November and am hoping to bring her with me since I will be there for almost 2 weeks.

YAY for Macy, what a good girl. I agree, lots of socialization helps them adapt to change easier. We try out every new experience we can stores, people, dogs or whatever seems safe and interesting to them. Can't offer any advice on planes though there are folks on here who can chime in on that. GOOD GIRL Macy, keep it up

Oh man, travel with a dog on a plane is hard!!  Do not, I repeat, do not trust United Cargo with her!  Seriously.  There are some horror stories out there about them.  My friend sent her dog via United Cargo (supposedly on the same flight as her in a cargo part) and he ended up getting sent to Memphis!!  She was going to LA.  Not to freak you out, but really do your research.   :)

I really want to take her with me but am also wondering if I just want to take her with  me because it will be hard for her or do I want to take her because is will be hard on ME? I am thinking I may not be thinking of what is best for the dog right now because I will miss her so much while I am gone. If anyone knows of a safe way and smart way to get her there that would be great but I have heard horror stories before so have really been a little worried about doing it.
