hello everyone!

i've been browsing for awhile and decide what the heck, might as well introduce myself and my little boxer. He's a reverse brindle just a week short from being 5 months old. I've had the little guy since he was two months. His name is Chango which translates into monkey in spanish. I gave him that name because the first night I brought him home he was hanging by his two front legs from a baby gate as he was trying to climb over. It was a great scene and there have been many more since then as you all can easily imagine. This is my first boxer, and I was considering getting a pit bull terrier before I saw him, but now couldn't regret my decision any less. His temperment is calm, his demeanor is great, so laid back for a puppy. Can you tell i love this guy? lol anyway here are some pics, and I have a question to ask: I live in a small town compared to most and so I was wondering, where am I likely to find "A" rated foods found in the sticky thread? I have petco, petworld, target, walmart  and thats it. Thanks

Welcome to Boxer Forums!  :D  Chango is adorable! As for food choices, Target has started carrying Drs. Foster and Smith foods, which is an excellent choice. Petco also has a variety of premium foods, it is just a matter of finding one that Chango enjoys and works well for him.

Hello and Welcome!! Petsamart and Petco both carry about the same foods...a few of them are good quality.  The key is to find a food that works with your pup...i ran through a whole list of the "A" quality foods and none worked with my Reese....the only thing that settled her tummy and gave her firm poo's was Purina One.

OMG those pics are great!! WELCOME to you and Chango! As far as the food goes you would have to just go and look at the stores! I KNOW our WalMart and Target sell all crap foods!! Ive just started feeding Purina Pro Plan Salmon to my dogs and they love it and are doing great on it! Im sure some people will disagree with it but I figured Id give it a try becaus Ive seen so many show dogs on it and hey were awesome! Nice coats ect. and heard from so many breeders that feed it and say its great. Ive also fed Canidae, Natural Balance, Prairie, California Natural that I got from my local Pet Country store. So Im sure you can find one;) Good luck and your boys a CUTIE!!

Welcome to the forum, your baby Chango is adorable.  I believe that Timberwolf will ship free for any orders over $25, if you can't find one locally.  If you decide to do the Timberwolf check the protein and fat levels some of those are too high for puppies.

I also feed Pro Plan Select Natural Salmon and Brown Rice on the recommendation of a show breeder; it was the only food I found for Kiah that she didn't have runny poo, vomiting or some other problem.  Just remember to change the food over slowly; 1/4 new & 3/4 old for a few days at least and then up the new 1/4 and decrease the old; continue the increase and decrease 1/4 cup until all new.

Welcome to the forum!  Your boxer baby is adorable.  Love the pictures too.  Purina has a new food out that is suppose to be "all natural".  Haven't seen it in the stores yet around here but since it is Purina Target and Walmart might carry it.  Purina is not a food recommended by most but for some it is the only thing that works and the all natural one might be okay.

Welcome to you & Chango...He's a cutie....As far as food goes, for some it's a trial and error...Petsmart does carry a few good foods, Blue Buffalo is one, which I have tried, but didn't work with mine(loose stools), Like was already mentioned, check your Target and see if they carry Dr Fosters, that is a good food as well...I also live in a very small town and my resources are limited to Walmart and the local pet store which luckily started carrying Chicken Soup, which seems to agree with both of mine...The best thing to do is buy small bags and just experiment to see what works. At the end of the day, altho we want to feed the best we can, sometimes the best just doesn't work for our babies....Some places online will ship with no charge if your order exceeds a certain amount, so you may want to check that as well...

Curious, why you say he is reverse brindle? He looks like a normal brindle boy in the pics. Very nice looking pup.
well, on his papers he's listed as reverse brindle, and from the pictures he looks normal brindle...he's darker than he looks in the pictures but now that you mention it and i take a different perspective on him, he could be normal brindle. he could go either way so idk.
