Re: Now what?!?!

Pulled Muscle or sprain?  I would monitor a couple of days, if he does not get better, then take him in to get it checked out.  Have you massaged the leg to find the point to where its making him uncomfortable?
Re: Now what?!?!

Poor Henry...Give him hugs from Duke and I.
Re: Now what?!?!

It could also be because he slept wrong. My dog did that they other day because he slept wrong.
Re: Now what?!?!

ya I'd have to agree with Heather, sure sounds like a pulled muscle or a sprain, give it a few days and see what happens
Re: Now what?!?!

I thought he had just slept funny at first too.  I gave his leg a little rub, which he seemed to enjoy, then he was off outside to sleep some more!
But as the day went on, the limping got worse.  By the time we went to bed last night, he wasn't putting any weight on it at all.
I just can't imagine what he did to himself while sleeping! 8O
Re: Now what?!?!

Awwww, poor Henry...Samson in the past has done that a few times, but generally by the end of the day he would be back to normal...If he's still limping, I would take him in, hoping it's nothing serious
Re: Now what?!?!

Chyna starts limping when she gets into trouble for something..did he do something naughty that day? lol
Re: Now what?!?!

Poor Henry! I hope he gets better soon! Hopefully its just a pulled muscle or a sprain.

Re: Now what?!?!

I know if I sleep funny...my back hurts me the whole day...and by night if i don't have a heat pack on it, I am in tears...I've done that to my knee before too..took me 3 days to get full use of my knee back..stupid hubby slept with his leg draped over my knee...and somehow hurt it, grrr
Re: Now what?!?!

Well, the limping is MUCH less today.  He is still favoring the leg, but not nearly as bad as yesterday.
I'll keep an eye on him and take him in if it doesn't get better or gets worse.

Thanks for the kind thoughts!   :D
Re: Now what?!?!

Glad to hear he's much better today.  I would keep him kind of restricted, no walk except out to yard so he isn't running around doing the boxer buzz for a few days and it has time to recover.

Happy to hear Henry is doing better, hopefully he will get a bit better each day!  :)
Re: Now what?!?! - what the vet says

Well, a week later, Henry's still limping.
Went to the vet this morning.  He says maybe a torn ACL type thingy.  They'll do xrays this afternoon.
I'll keep y'all posted.

Some of you guys have had experience with this type of injury.  What can I expect?
Re: Now what?!?! - what the vet says

We are hoping and praying its not an ACL. Donner and Blitzy send all kinds of good  healing vibes down to Texas :emtthumbs:
Re: Now what?!?! - what the vet says

i hope henry starts feeling better, and it is nothing serious.let us know what happens.
Re: Now what?!?! - what the vet says

Not sure what the treatment is for ACL but hope it isn't anything major.
Re: Now what?!?! - what the vet says

Poor Henry! I sure hope it is just a bad sprain and nothing serious.
Re: Now what?!?! - what the vet says

Awww....kepping paws crossed that its not a torn ACL. We went through it with our Giant Schnauzer.....TWICE.
If it is he will have to have limited activity with us it was no exercise,no jumping no stairs(hubby made a ramp for her)basicly she was alowed to potty on a leash come in and lay down.and she was in some pain for the first few days.we had to do the no activity for 6 weeks the first time then 8 weeks the second time.
Re: Now what?!?! - what the vet says

Has your vet done a test to check for Lyme disease?
