It's been quite an eventful morning so far, started it off normal woke up at 6 am took puppy ate came back ate and then she decided to poop on the rug in front of the door, ggggrrr she hasn't pooped in the house in over 2 weeks! so I take her out so she can finish we come back in the house I go to the bathroom to wash my hands (gone for maybe 20 secs) come back to the room and she is attempting to consume my breakfast croissant! I think all she got was a little bit of cream cheese so I don't think that'll do anything to her.  the next couple hours it's relatively calm, play go outside come back in the house and I put her in the crate so I can take a shower (and I was getting happy 'cause she for the first time didn't whine while I was gone from the room)  I come out and let her out of the crate she goes straight for the water bowl and drinks about half of it so 2 mins later she is at the door and yipping, I thought oh crap I'm still in a towel, so I let her out into the back yard and myself stay in front of the door (not wanting to parade around the yard in a towel) she goes up to her potty area, our house is on a hill so yard has different levels the yard is 4feet higher than the patio area where I was standing, so Maple decides she wants to play and grabs a mouth full of dirt mixed w/ fertilizer (we are waiting to put down sod and are preparing the soil) and bolts hoping I'll chase her, I never do because I don't want her to learn to run from me when I'm walking at her.  Anyways so I go towards the stairs to go up to where she is, she starts to run around and runs towards the edge of the wall stops herself in time (almost) her front legs slide off and she goes flying down from the 4 foot wall! there are some barriers there so they broke her "jump" she landed on her feet and limped at first I picked her up right away and felt her leg nothing seemed to be out of place and she didn't whine when I was touching her leg, everything appears ok at the moment (she is sleeping lol) but i was wondering if any issues can arise from this (eating dirt w/fertilizer, jumping off 4 foot wall)  later on in the day, what should I look out for.  Oh yeah all this before 10am, I wonder what else she has in store for us today.... I just hope she didn't hurt herself, hope it wasn't too much for her joints and belly.

Hmmm . . . don't know about the fertilizer.  The dirt shouldn't hurt her.

Henry hasn't cried once because of his hurt leg.  So not crying isn't necessarily a sign of no injury.  I'd keep an eye on her.  If she starts limping you might want to have her looked at by the vet.

Oh these puppies!   She sure is cute though!

My goodness, someone has had a busy morning! They sure do keep you on your toes, don't they? As you have an appt already in a couple day, I would just watch Maple, see how the leg is and take it from there....

thanks samsonsmom :) so far the leg is ok, I took her for a walk down the street to burn off her energy instead of letting her run around the yard, she is a jumper, actually more like a leaper and I didn't want her to do that until I'm sure she is ok.
