Background: Bruce was neutered 3 weeks ago before starting heartworm treatment.
Yesterday:  his scrotum was swolen, and looked like it did before his surgery,  in the a.m. but later that on in the day it was looked normal, just a flap of skin.  Is there anything I should be concerned about?  It was a bit chilly here yesterday could that be the reason for this?
I know its an off the wall ? but it had me concerned yest. a.m.

The area swells due to fluid pooling in the scrotal sac...this is usually from irritation (weather has no bearing)...so either he was more active or he was licking the area...maybe even jumped and hit that area in some way or rubbed it against something....the main thing is that it goes down and there is no heat...if you touch the skin it should not feel hotter then normal body temp.....It is an irritation of the inside stitch generally......the stitch's that are inside will disolve but it can take 3 to 6 weeks for that to happen and until they do disolve the swelling can come and go.....

Generally after the first two weeks it is okay for them to be active again..it may or may not happen again.......there is really no need to keep him confined any longer....just something to keep an eye on....there may be some swelling until the stitch's disolve, but you want to make sure that within a 24 hour period it goes down....sounds like everything is normal to me.....
