So hubby brought home a laser pointer from work... and of course we had to torment the pups w/ it  :lol:  I had heard of dogs going nutso about laser pointers before but until you see it first hand... well let's just say that I laughed my butt off!

Poor guys they looked for it for like 20 minutes after we put it away

Lol Angel is totally obsessed with it, so VERY seldom doe sit come out..I mean even if she catches the reflection off a watch or something, she goes nutz...They really are funny tho, trying to chase it..Hard to not be amused

I can totally understand how they could get obsessed w/ it.  We only had it out for 5 minutes and they went nuts over it  :lol:

I sure wish there was definite info on the pointers. I read that it can cause behavioral problems. Yet, my cousin has a lab, and he uses it, for years, and all is fine. It seems like good fun when it is rainy outside.

I've noticed some dogs do completely go crazy and become obsessed. I've mentioned before... that we make sure we showed Odin where the dot comes from and we show him when we put it up. Doing it this way I think has kept him sane!  He doesn't look for it when we put it up and he is READY TO GO when we open up THAT DOOR that it's stored in... LOL. But it really has kept him sane... try it! Seriously... we've had it for months and he's still sane! Well, as sane as a boxer can be!! lol

There was an episode of the Dog Whisperer, this couple had used one of those lasers with their dog(don't remember what breed), medium size, like a pointer I think)..Anyways the dog became soo obsessed, every where he went all he did was search for that laser..I think you need to know your dog, his behavior, if they get obsessive about things, a laser might not be a good thing to use...Angel is OCD, so we VERY seldom play with her with a laser..

I bought one for boudreaux and he loves it.  I let him play for a few then without him looking I put a treat somewhere on the floor and lead him to it.
