Well first off I would like to tell you a bit about my dog Lexie. She is six year old boxer. She will be turning seven years old on October 10th. And yes we have a huge party planned. Lol. She is a very sweet dog. She is very lazy, but she is watches over her family. Her favorite thing to do is sleep. She is usually in bed around ten if not earlier. We got her about two-three years ago from a Boxer Rescue Organazation here in West Virginia. We are good friends with the owner of the place so therefore we got our dogs from her. I hope you enjoy the photos and information I will be sharing with you guys!

So does anyone doing any activites with their dog for Halloween? Our city is having a halloween walk and you walk your dogs down the street. It is pretty much like a parade, but still entertaining!

In this photo you will see my dog Gretchen who died back in April of this year. We got her from a rescue organazation just like we got Lexie. Gretchen lived for about three-four years after we bought her. Lexie and Gretchen loved each other a lot! In this photo you will see what I mean!

Here is some additional info on Gretchen. She was a boxer who had an abusive owner as most rescue's do. She was six years old when we bought her. She had a few tumors and she had some terrible ears. Her owner wanted her to look like a Pit Bull so therefore he did her ears like one.

I hope you enjoy the photo!

I don't have photos to share this time, but I do have a story. This just happened a few minutes ago. I was laying on the couch with the pillows watching some TV when Lexie came up and gave me that look that meant get up, those are my pillows. Well I did not get up and wanted to see what she would do so she jumped up on the couch came up to me and sat on my lap. She is huge for a female boxer so it was pretty heavy on my stomach. After about setting there for five minutes she gets up and pushes her back legs and I end up in the floor. Before I could get up and get my pillows back she was already on them and sleepy. She wasn't really asleep, but she thought I would buy it. Now I'm at the desk and she is asleep on the pillows. It seems that the dogs always win and that we allow it. Lol.

As long as Lexie is around there will be stories!

Yeah her owner was trying to make her look like a Pit Bull. What was so funny was that she acted no way like a Pit. She was extremely sweet! I'm sure Sampson is as well. He looks like a big baby!

Sorry I haven't updated the site, we have been very busy the last week! Let me give somewhat of an update and possibly some good news!

Well we got a phone call the other day from someone who works with my mothere at a boarding kennel. The person's son has a boxer who is very crazy and destroys things in there house while they are not home so he tied the boxer up outside in the 40 degree temperatures with no water or food! That is NO way to treat a boxer! So the person was calling to see if we would take the boxer for free within the next few days. The only person that wanted to keep the boxer was a little girl, so they said give it two-three days and they would break the news to her and let us have the boxer. Well we were told this Friday and it is Monday and still no word from the people! I will keep everyone updated!

Well I got more information this evening and it isn't what I thought it would be. The father of the daughter decided to keep the dog, but it stays outside. I'm going to see what I can do to change her and the little girl's mind!

Lately we have been talking about getting an additional boxer to be with Lexie. There is this person that my mom works with and her son keeps the boxer outside in the cold temperatures and they don't like the dog, but there daughter does, but today they made their decision to get rid of the dog! Which means Lexie will have someone with her if they get along. The lady will be here in 30 minutes to drop off the dog. Wish us luck!

Thanks everyone for the comments. I am a bit nervous though. Below is an update of how they reacted today..

Well around 12:00pm the women came and Lexie and Sammy finally met. It was a bit nervous at first, but then Lexie started foaming at the mouth and eating grass. I hope she was eating it only because she was nervous, but I don't know.

Once we left them inside and Sammy explored the area a few things took place. Sammy took one of Lexie's bones that she doesn't like anymore and ran to a rug and when Lexie would walk by Sammy would growl. We told Sammy no and I don't think she got the picture.

A little while later we were talking to Lexie and petting on her when Sammy came up and jumped on Lexie and started growling. Lexie tried to run off, but Sammy kept on giving her crap. He broke up that arguemnt quick.

Instead of leaving Sammy and Lexie alone while my mother worked she took Sammy to work with her. Once we got back this evening we introduced Goodie ( Soft food ) to the both of them and Sammy tried to take over Lexie's bowl. Lexie let her once again.

I'm worried that poor Lexie is going to be upset and not improce from having a friend, but I guess they will become friends over time, well at least I hope they do. If things don't work out we know a lady who owns a Boxer Rescue and I'm sure she would find it a great home!

Now my finaly question, who do you think is alpha at this point? I figured it would be Lexie since Lexie is older and has lived at the house longer, but I guess that doesn't matter.

I hope things improve around bedtime. I will have an update when the family heads to bed. I will be staying up late to work on some things plus I want to watch some TV so I will update the site often to see how they are doing.

Yes, photos of Sammy will be coming soon. I am still trying to get photos with both of them, but they aren't getting too close yet.

Wish us luck!

Well I have an update for everyone. We have been watching them over the weekend and things are improving! Over the weekend the growling is still going on, but we figured out why. Sammy is growloing at Lexie because she doesn't want Lexie getting near her bone. At first she was growling at Lexie everytime they got close to each other, but now things have calmed down. Like I said she is only growling when Lexie get's near her things.

At this point we believe Lexie is Alpha. Lexie always comes upstairs first and Sammy follows. When Lexie jumped up in the bed Sammy was also going to, but Lexie gave her a quick look and Sammy sat down on the floor. So at this point we believe Lexie is in charge.

They really aren't friends yet, but they are getting along. I actually saw them playing this morning. I let them outside and Lexie was chasing Sammy around. I was happy to see that because Lexie needs to exercise. Lol.

One of the main reasons we got Sammy was to keep Lexie company when we would leave hom. Lexie used to foam all over the place and try to bite her way out of her kennel. Now that Sammy is there, there is only small amounts of slobber and Lexie isn't nervous at all. I hope it works out. It looks as if things are improving at this point.

I will have pictures up soon!
