you got them!!  i've been busy all day w/ vetty at the vet (mild pancreatitis!) and baking rescue cookies.

are they at your house now?

the first one looks pretty good.  the poor baby 2nd one you can see the mange.  they will clean up nicely and get good homes!

kudos for saving them!!!!!!

They both are so sweet..I agree, once they get some meat on them and get cleaned up and back to health, no doubt someone will want those 2....They look great tho, just breaks my heart that people allow their pets to get in that shape..Grrr

Sunny, you can come over anytime to help with the babies and when they are ready to be adopted the fee will be 250.00 each ;-p

Diane, they are still at the shelter. I have to wait until the court hearing on Thursday to be able to take them home. I will be going to see them a little each day to get them used to me. I want the transition from the shelter to my home to be as easy as possible. The city shelter where they are currently house is wonderful. The people who work there are very caring and they spend a great deal of time during the day with the boxer babies!! If I can find time in my schedule between work and fostering I may start volunteering with them.

that's a great way to get them settled and trusting before you pick them up.  with bud the rescue i brought him dog treats 3x a day because our shelter is so awful and he was freezing and starving.  by the 3rd day when i picked him up he just loved me and hopped right in my truck.  i even snuck a can of canidae in my pocket and feed him by hand thru the bars :)

i wish our shelter allowed volunteers to socialize the dogs.  they are working on building a bigger shelter and doing that, but i'm afraid it will just be stalled in committees.

the good thing about getting to know your local shelter is they will let you in to break the rules like slipping them food, when they know you are going to take the dog and are involved in rescue.  i think their no feeding rules are out of fear of poisoning or bites.

now your only worry is getting too attached!!  it's so worth it though :)
