Puppy not settling in crate at night

Hello - I’ve a super cute 10 week old
Boy who has joined our family - I’ve owned a boxer before but can’t remember him being as unsettled as this little guy is . Doing all the right things but I believe it’s the anxiety of us not being near him .
I should add I am crate training him - which he is more than happy with during the day . Any advice would be great thank you ☺

Sounds like he is feeling insecure right now. It’s hard on puppies being taken away from their families where they are used to sleeping in piles with their mom and siblings. I am different than other people on this subject I have never crated any of the six Boxers I have owned at night, I prefer to let them sleep with me and get up at night and take them out when they need to go than have them feel insecure. I did crate most of them only when I left the house.

Hmm, well you know. I never thought about it? But the only dog I ever had serious ... "Send you to the ER, for Stitches," issues with was the "only dog that did not sleep with me?" Different Breed, Working Line GSD, (I don't recommend them) but in the long run, it worked out fine. He saved me from charging dog's, unbid ..when I slipped, on ice while shielding him.

He was a lot of work but he became a great dog, in the long run. But yeah he did not sleep with me or in the Bed Room? Kinda odd? But not a Boxer thing.

Anyway ... I don't "Crate my dog's either, they sleep with me." They also did not "Potty Indoor's, Destroy Furniture or Chew on electrical cords. So it can be done but to your question. "If," I were to "Crate, a 10 week old puppy?" I don't see that ever happening but never say never.

Out the gate, I'd sleep in front of the Crate on the floor, to start. I don't know if that is a thing ... but that is what I'd try first. And if that was a fail? I'd try this. :

I have never done it, but it makes sense to me. Good Luck and Welcome Aboard. :)

The first few nights we slept next to the crate, at least until he fell sound asleep. The first week was pretty sleepless for us as we were up and down many times including potty breaks. We also covered the crate, I think that helped a lot as it gave him a more secure feeling. My last dog a 5 month old standard poodle has no training , lived in a barn with others. I did not really crate train him as he was just so very anxious when I would place him in. I left it out with the door open. Now a year later I can crate him if necessary. I basically gated him off in my kitchen until he was potty trained and he slept in bed with my daughter at night. I do crate him occasionally if I will be gone for a few hours as he has eaten the sheetrock on my walls and molding. I think we are hopefully pst all that now but if he doesn't get proper exercise of mental stimulation he may just get bored and eat the house. I think crate training is important but they also need more free time being supervised. The crate comes in handy for illness, chewing stages, even when the have any surgery so it it good for them to learn to settle in there.

We put a crate in our bedroom for new puppies. The breeder had started introducing the crate early. If there was crying we didn't speak or interfere. We let the puppy out to pee every so often. Eventually they stopped fusing, and crying. It was hard to hear them, but they loved their crates afterwards. Maybe taking them out every 3-4 hours was a schedule they liked. We didn't talk or play with them.
Is the crate in the bedroom with you for sleeping? Our girl settled pretty quickly at night, and we kept the crate next to our bed. She still loves to sleep in there even though we removed the door from the crate when she was around 18 months old
The bedroom crate was for sleeping. One of us would be on the bed at the time. The crate was closed. No interaction, talking to the dog.
