I know several people who use them with good outcome, but I must say that I am not a fan of them nor would I use them...I feel it is possible to train a puppy/dog without shocking them...

How dose everyone feel about an electric collar when training your Boxer?
I feel they are mean for the dog. I have a friend who uses them for the first few months of a puppy and his dog is trained VERY NICELY.

I agree, I would never think about using one. That type of collar is only as good as the person who is using it. IMO you can have a nicely trained dog if you take the time to train them and have patients
