Ive been feeding tyson puppy chow, since it was what the breeder was feeding him. R there any reason I should change it? He eats it up, is healthy, growing etc. But just want some feedback on this. Does it help in hygene?

It depends on the indgredients.   Too many low quality fillers and allergyns are common in some foods that pose no nutritional benefit to the dog.  Just a filler which means goes in one end out the other.

Many of the holistic kibbles tend to cut out these fillers/allergyen and replace them with more protein sources, fruits and veggies.   So it all depends on the ingred.

Also for pups under 18month you have to watch the protein %

We fed that with our first boxer Calli and had a horrible time with her eating her poo.  After talking with the vet he said that the purina puppy chow goes right through them and it still smells like food when it came out (this was over 16 years ago so I am sure it may have changed by now).  We switched to Natures Recipe (one of the few good foods out back then) and she did much better with the poo issue.  She also had runny poo with the purina.
