Regarding all the Craigslist postings lately...

We all know there are so many boxers that are in need of a home, and if we could help each one we would. However, lately the forum has been getting a lot of Craigslist's ads on it, and really there are new dogs added every day and I really don't feel that is necessary to post each ad. If anyone is interested in helping or adopting another boxer, I'm sure they will know where to look.

Edit to this....IF you see something that really stands out, ie: a very bad situation, please by all means post it. But there are soo many Boxers on Craigslist and there are a lot of us that do look at the site daily, it's getting a bit overwhelming.....Here's my suggestion, when you see a Boxer on there, please notify the local Boxer Rescue so they can take the dog in..

Just a reminder to everyone, we all know there are a ton of Boxers on Craigslist, UNLESS you see something that is reallly a bad situation, let's try and refrain from all the posts....The best thing you can do is get in contact with your local Boxer Rescue and let them pick up the dogs.....

Thanks all
I totally agree. I didn't want to ruffle any feathers, but craigslist ads are mostly shady people who are just out to make a buck.

that's what i do - point the ads out to my local boxer rescue.  some of them are surrenders and rescue is a much safer option than craigslist  :!:
Interesting.... Craig's List has no boxers at all in 3 near-by areas to me, which would include 1/3 - 1/2 of my state and part of another.

Hmm...def. keep your eye out...I know when i go to craigslist ( try not too, get so upset and disgusted) there are many purebred boxers! Def. really sad! You could even post a listing on craiglist and see if you get any responses! Have you talked to any rescues yet?
I feel sad bc we cannot even touch CL we are so swamped, we used to keep an eye on it, but that is in the past!! ABR which covers all of central TX if those of you whom want to really know what that means get a map out look as far west as Houston as North as Dallas and South as Corpus and East Tx.....Take special notices to all the small towns each with a kill shelter, thats what we concentrate on....
 Andrea is right omg...the areas are HUGE here and i was looking yesterday and omg WOW..there are two 1 year old fawns right now and boy are they skinny...with of course nothing written about them b/c these places are sooooooo overwhelmed..

once we get settled in routines id like to help Andrea... :)

Ky I am gonna hold you to it!!!
Just a question, is there a boxer rescue here in SoCal that is a member? I just joined a few months ago, so I haven't seen one so far. I just found a young pup on CL.
Natalie; there is a member (CaliforniaBoxers) who works with rescue for the whole state...I think she updates her site every week. Sorry I don't have more specific info.

Thank you so much!!! :D
Yes, I just checked the member list, and that is her username here.
I would avise anyone looking for one on CL to be cautious, my daughter responded to an ad on there and it was a backyard breeder that ended up surrendering all the surviving puppies and parents to the humane society after we called them. Ends up the puppies have a genetic condition vascular ring anomalies and most of them did not make it because it was diagnosed too late and they starved. We kept one and she is doing really really well but it has been a real challange and rather expensive just to get her diagnosed. We have fostered several boxers from CL that just needed out of a bad situation and they are all doing well in their new homes as well.
