Hi there, you were all really helpful last time and I could do with some more advice. I am on the waiting list for a boxer puppy and have just found out the dam is 7 years old, also this is her third litter. I dont know if if this is a bit old or if it is normal to have several litters, but I am a bit worried. Am I being over cautious or should this be setting alarm bells ringing?

The age to me seems a bit old for her to still be having pups, but i am not a breeder so i do not know for sure. I know we have a few breeders on the forum so hopefully one of them can let you know.

Had you the possibility to look at the dam? Is she a cheerful
healthy looking girl?

Three litters in 7 years is not so much.

Bad breeders let have the dam a litter every heat (some female dogs
have two heats every year...)

I would prefer a puppy from an older dam.
She has experiences with puppies (some female dogs who gets their
first litter are a bit under stress) and what is as much important for me:
If a female dog is able to have 3 litters and if she is 7 she must have a good
health.
I like if mother and father of my dog will become very old too because
I want my dog to become very old, too.

Nothing to care about a seven year old dam!

Thank you both for your super fast responses. Everyone is so keen to help on here. I just want to know that my puppy will get the best start! The dam looks good, so it sounds like I dont need to worry
