Sirius had his second round of vaccines today.  Tonight he woke up from his nap with a large lump at the site of one of his injections.  I have read that this is common, and should go away, but I am still very concerned.  I touched the lump, and he snapped at me very hard.  Obviously, the lump hurts him.

I also talked to his vet about ACE, since his neuter surgery is coming up in a couple of months.  They said they use it, but they also provide the option of using valium instead.  He was seen by a different vet this time, and I was very impressed by her knowledge of Boxers.  She said she doesn't like to use ACE anyway.  She also said it was great to see a white Boxer for a change.  She knew about the history of culling, and the old wives tales about them being less healthy.  She was pretty cool.

My little dog stumpie had exactly the same from his booster jab, by the next morning it was huge. Took him to the vet and they said same, its quiet common and was a fluid pocket, so they just drained it with a neddle and syringe and it was gone! 8O

I noticed when I took Angel in for her shots a few months ago, she did the same thing, but didn't seem to bother her...If he's fine this morning, I wouldn't worry, but if he's still in pain, call the vet, maybe they can do a needle aspiration...Sounds like a good vet you talked to, I always like it when they have dealt with Boxers and are familair with their "issues"

Kash had the same thing when he got his shots.   Took a couple of weeks to go down, and I was freaking like WTF - a lump???    So took him in and they said typical reaction - wait a couple of weeks and shall go down.

Hope he gets better soon, neither of mine have had that but I think I would freak big time if they did.
