I was awakened yesterday morning (around 2:00 am) to Merlin opening the shower door (click), then having a case of diarrhea in the shower. He's done this before, but I thought it was just an isolated incident. I got him outside while I cleaned out the shower, hoping he had gotten it all out of his system. Then, at 5:15 am, I heard another "click" - he was going back into the shower (I guess for another round). I got him outside (and he was sure in a hurry!). He's crated during the day - I guess we should have left him in the bathroom with the shower access! What a mess!

His diarrhea has resolved itself finally (he ate part of one of his toys) and he's back to normal now. But, he sure is one smart puppy! Now if I can just teach him to hose it down too!
(I adopted Merlin from a rescue organization about 8 months ago.)

Can he come teach Duke how to do that?  Duke had diarrhea on Friday night and Saturday morning...well Friday night Duke had an accident in the bedroom and I didn't notice, Duke covered it up with a towel...Adam found it when he kicked the towel.

What a smart boy Merlin is, bet it wouldn't take long to teach him to turn on the shower

I don't know why, but that story really made me chuckle!    Maybe it's the way you told it, but I think that's so funny. I agree though, what a smarty! I hope Merlin is feeling a lot better.  :)

I was telling my brother about it - he has some friends that are buying a new boat - one with 2 bathrooms so they can teach their Mastiff to go to the bathroom in his own shower! I told him that I would send Merlin over for lessons - it won't be too expensive!
