I was just wondering if anyone has used any of the Solid Gold Dry Kibbles?? And if so what did you like or dislike about the food??  I spent some time at the pet store looking at ingredients, protein levels, and prices of a lot of different foods tonight. I tried to remember things that I had read from previous posts about the good things and the bad things to look at.  The reason that I am looking for a new food is simply because I am not feeding a good quality and I really was unaware of that. Until coming here so I am looking to do better by my dogs. I did look on food Reviews and its a 4 star rated food so I think that pretty good just for doing some personal shopping around and reading ya'lls posts. Any info would be great thanks for reading!

That's so great you're looking into getting your babies on better food!  Good for you!
When we first got Beckham we had him on Solid Gold Wolf Cub (we hadn't found this forum yet) and he didn't really care for it.  It also gave him really soft poo.  Plus we had to add in all these 'extras' just to get him to eat a little bit.  I know it's still a great food and is better than Science Diet or something low grade, but all dogs are different and some foods work better for others.  It might take a few tries to find the food that works best for your dogs and your pocket book.  
Our two dogs are on Merrick Wilderness blend and the difference in their coats is amazing!!  Plus they don't even think twice about gobbling down their food!  Start off with a small to medium sized bag of whatever you choose and see how they like it and go from there.  You'll eventually find one that you and your dogs can live with  :lol:

Ooooo, thanks for the info!  I've been looking for a new food for Henry and that sounds like one I may try.  I'll be going to my local PetCo today to see what I can find.

My rescue recommends that food, but it didn't work for Kiah (one of the many).  I think it is rated well on the food analysis page also.

Thank you for the responses so far things seem to be OK... I have only been adding about a 1/4 of the new food in to the regular feeding last night and this Am. But my boys like the taste of it so that's one positive now I just need to watch for how it effects the digestive system.  They were smelling the beg alot before I put it away last night and then they seemed pretty excited about dinner last night.  I also gave each boy one little nugget by hand to see if they even liked It, since my Brannon (fawn) can be a picky eater but he liked it. So I am hoping that we have hit the nail head on first try but we shall see.

We're feeding both our Sold Gold Mmellinia and the more I buy, the less I'm actually liking the food.  When I first started feeding it, it came vacuum packed like coffee.  Now, it seems that air is invading the bags.  From one bag to another, you can notice the kibble are a different color.  I'm paying around 42 bucks for a 33lb. bag.  Sadie is doing very well, shiny coat, etc.  Charlie occasionally throws up after eating, and I'm wondering if he might have a food allergy.
