Well we finally made it to 35 degrees and sunny here in the land of ice and snow so Kelly and I had the pups out for two 20 - 30 minute outside play times and tonight Blitzens ears, head and neck are bright pink!!! She doesn't appear uncomfortable.....just pink 8O  I knew she would need sunscreen in the summer but guess the sun reflecting off the snow was too much for her. Any other ****** owners run into this?????
On a brighter note, both Donner and Blitzen are snoozing the night away. They've been cooped up by the crappy weather so a day of sun and fun makes for a quiet night for us

Thanks for the reply. Knew we'd have to stock up on sunscreen, just didn't think about the snow reflection.....duh   As far as her neck goes, she's got some chunky monkey rolls on her neck  and the rolls are pink.Hopefully by tomorrow all will be well.  :D

Sorry Lori, I had to laugh at the "chunky monkey" comment...You know I had never thought about snow either, but you are right, it's just as easy to burn when you are on snow, poor Blitz...Hoping the "pinkie girl" looks better tmw

Well I have a white dog but it's not my boxer.  It is my furry Bichon.  He has issues from the snow also.  I had to snowblow the backyard because his 7 inch legs and the 18 inch's of snow didn't calculate.  Poor guy had to potty on the porch.  He now has plenty of leg room.

I really never thought about the snow and sunburn, but I know skiiers can get sunburned so it makes sense.  Hope she is back to herself soon.
