This thing works great! I got one as a christmas gift and wow! It really gets at the dead hair that you can't see, but end up on your shirt! I groom Hoosier almost daily and have used a variety of brushes and combs, but this one takes the cake. Its also broght out the shine in his coat and the smoothness that I've been looking for. He always been a little bushy.  I'd do a commercial for these guy if they asked me to!

Sounds awesome, I've never heard of one? Are they just for grooming?? Who makes them? Donner freaks over the hairdryer so I don't know if he'd be into it but a friend has a pekinese and the hair on that dog makes her crazy!!

check out furminator.com

They are just for grooming and they claim a 90% reduction in shedding. We'll see. It pulled off a ton though.

I have a furminator as well.  Haven't had the chance to use it on Cooper yet.  In another thread I'd mentioned this along with a knock-off that's available at Bed, Bath and Beyond for about 1/3 the price.  I don't think the build quality is going to be even close, but it may work the same.

went out today and bought a furminator to use on Baron. Tried it on Maverick and he looked at me like i was crazy. he has a very short sleek coat so nothing really came off but when i used it on Baron WOW in 30 seconds i got a ton of fur off of him. that was all the time he would allow me to brush him for at that time because he hadnt initiated it. go figure.

My cat has become used to it and I think seems to enjoy it more....that was not always the case but you are right it gets a ton of hair off of them and helps with not only the hair but hairballs.....Fiona has a thicker coat and I get hair off of her but not tons....it has helped with seeing hairs all over the house and the car though....

I THINK they've started carrying them at Petsmart.  When I bought mine, it wasn't really being carried anywhere mainstream.  Had to look around before finding it.

I got mine at Petsmart after reading this post... (I really got it for my cat b/c she sheds like crazy) but I figured if I could use it on the dogs too it'll just be an added bonus.  The one I got I found in the cat section of Petsmart b/c it was the smallest / least expensive one but it says on the package that it's for dogs and cats.  In the dog section of the store they also had some but they were ginormous ones and were upwards of 50 bucks-

I bought the medium dog one for approx $45-50 when I got it.  The "As Seen On TV" model at BBB is about $15 so if you're hesitant to buy because of the price, maybe you can try this one out instead.

I'm thinking of getting one of these to use on Freddie - goodness knows where all the hair comes from on such a short haired dog   How is everyone getting on with theirs? They're quite expensive in the UK so want to make sure it's gonna be a worth-while purchase first.

Also, what size? That's probably a personal preference thing but thought I'd ask anyway.
