I used the salmon oil you sent in the basket; noticed a big difference in Keegans coat it is shinier and softer (really rough when I got him).  I have been using salmon oil with Kiah for awhile and her coat is like silk, she is so soft and shiny.

I did just order some of the fish oil that you mentioned.

ive been using sardines for a long time since you first mentioned them when i joined the forum heather and it has made mav have a beautiful coat. Alongside reg grooming and a good kibble it has made a world of difference. I will be starting to add the oils you sent in a couple weeks once school is out. ive been forgetting because of all the finals!

Also contant grooming helps.   I have been trying to use the shed blade and the curry on my two.  Spreads the oils out and keeps the skin in condition -   Use of raw egg helps too.   Glad you are seeing some differences!!!

I started salmon oil on your suggestion about a month ago, it's kinda hard to tell.  I suck at grooming Oggie, he doesn't like being brushed.  He tries to lick the brush!     I think the hair does seem healthier but parts of him also look kinda ratty, like he needs to be brushed.  I think he may be shedding too with spring here so its hard to tell.  I'm going to stick with it and see what happens

I tried the salmon oil in Maddies food. Wouldn't touch it! I know...my dog is deranged. She won't even eat sardines anymore. I don't know what her problem is! She gets a raw egg about once or twice a week, and actually enjoys that still! *knocking wood*

I have noticed a huge difference in Samson's coat :) He has a very coarse coat and it's now shiny and very soft..Angel already has a very nice coat, but it's gotten even better...Luckily both of mine love to be groomed. Samson is getting brushed every day practically as he his shedding his winter coat badly...Angel is shedding a bit, but not bad.....Heather, got a question, when would it be safe to start Flick on the Salmon oil? My capsules are 1000mg..Should I wait a few weeks?

HUGE DIFFERENCE- My two look awesome. Heather, have you ever known the oil to upset the stomach? Lucy hasn't had any problems but Sam had terrible diarrhea Sat. Night then again Monday. I am only giving a teaspoon a day and splitting that up between two meals. I cut it out last night and this morning and added pumpkin and kaeopectate and hubby says he is fine today. Just wondering if the oil could have been a factor or if he just ate something outside that I didn't see him eat...

Lol Lisa, yup, Samson got a winter coat, Angel not really which I thought was rather odd...His hair has always been longer & coarser anyways, so when he sheds(and boy does he shed) he loses a lot of hair :) .....Dana, mine haven't had any issues with loose stools, but that's why I asked regarding Flick, I figured with him being small it might bother him, but guess not..We shall see how it goes when he comes home...More than likely he just got into somethin goutside Dana, esp if he's back to normal again...

Yeah, you are probably right, Willow. I have had them on the oil for a while a few weeks now. Lord knows what those two get into out in the yard. They are constantly bringing in sticks, leaves, etc.

Is there any alternative oils? Ever since Piper's allergic reaction after the salmon treat, I am not convinced that she isnt allergic to fish...

I do feed her a raw egg about once a week...

Chloe gets the timberwolf oil and you can def see the difference in her coat! so soft and what a shine, which is why I wanted Brodi on it but it looks like his tummy just can't take it.. Soon as I add even a tiny bit in his food he gets the runs  :(

We've been giving bullet Excel Nutricoat skin and coat liquid... there has been a noticeable improvement in the feel and look of his coat. We bought it at Petco. I bought it based on some suggestions I saw on here talking about omega 3 and 6 helping coat conditions, and it fit the bill.
