I am trying to put together a small meet up with a group of local boxer owners.  Maybe make it a once a month type of thing...Any suggestions? I have found a no-leash park close by that we can all meet at, but as far as what goes on...I am inexperienced! Any advice? What do you guys do at your meet ups?

Do you have contacts for boxers owners? If not, a post on Craigslist may grab peoples attention. I know that is how I found ours here. We knew several other boxers in the neighborhood and would do playdates, but we had a big meet up last weekend that was very fun, interesting at times, but overall fun. I would just make sure to let it be known that dog aggressive pups need to stay home.

We found out about our local boxer meetup from meetup.com (just search for boxer).

Went to one last month, about 15 boxers showed up (off-leash park in Medford, NJ).  When I was there we all just let the boxers run around and play and the owners were standing around chatting, sharing stories, etc.

Our meetup leader also asks us to make a donation to the NJ Boxer Rescue before we attend.

It was fun and we're looking forward to the next one!

Ours are fairly loose really...We all watch everyone's Boxers, obviously, but other than that, just chat with other owners..Really it's more for the dogs than anything else. Ours are held at the co-ordinators house, so she has coffee in the cold months and always bottled water...Usually a few people bring treats for the dogs as well  :)

That is awesome!! I agree with Barb, you are off to a great start..I think ours is up to 45 members and only a year and a half old...Free advertising helps too...Ask your local radio or tv stations if they might be interested in covering it...It helped us a lot
