I am soo nervous for my little man!  I have told them no ACE, and they said that's fine, remind them when we get there...I worry though about keeping him calm....he is soo high strung...and poor Jetta isn't gonna understand why her big brother can't play, lol...What can I expect when I pick him up tomorrow? Drowsiness?  Pain?  Will he know that they are gone?  Will he lick the area a lot? I've never dealt with fixing a boy dog before...just my girly kitty...so this is new...any advice on how to pamper him tomorrow is appreciated~

Can't answer the neuter questions but wanted to wish Bo the best, sure he will be fine.  Give him hugs from Kiah and I.  Guess you will have to have a talk with Jetta  :D

I have never had any problems from neutering any of my boys, Follow your vets advice for post surgery care. I think it is more traumatic on us than it is them. I always try not to let them get to rowdy for a couple of days. Give him lots of love and kisses.

Oggie was in good spirits when I picked him up.  I brought him home and his stomach was a little upset, and he was very tired.  He licked the wound a good amount for a few days but I did distract him whenever I caught him.  He was basically fine the next day, just a little tired.

Good luck Bo! The SPCA did Sam and we had to pick him up as soon as he woke up because they needed the space which sucked as he was still a bit drowsy. Same as what Sully said - Sam tried to lick the wound and we distracted when we caught him. Other than that, we tried to limit his activity as best we could but hey, they are boxers...

Best wishes Bo,   Donner was fine after his was done, just a real space case all that night! Next day it was like nothing had happened!

Good luck Bo..Jamie he will be fine, I do agree, it's us that gets all stressed out...Ask a lot of questions if you are not sure of anything..Males seem to recupe a lot faster than females

Should I keep him crated for awhile after he comes home?  How long?  How long til he can safely play with Jetta?

Good luck Bo!  You're gonna do great!
Re: Wish him luck, Bo's getting dropped off for fixin in an

Both ours had the laser operation.  Both were required to stay overnight.  When both left the vets, they acted normal.  Try to limit there jumping, Sadie jumped alot and ended up swelling around the laser incision.

well, we dropped him off, they tried to say ACE wasn't an issue...but agreed not to use it...I get to pick him up today at 4pm...he has gained another pound, up to 47.4 lbs...but said he looks healthy, good muscle tone, etc....they were a little concerned with a couple thin hair patches, but I decided not to test for demodex...i've noticed them and have watched them since we got him and they haven't changed at all...they also said his tail and dew claws look like a home job...that the cartiledge is still there in the dew claws and just not a clean cut at all...but that it won't cause any problems...
I hope he is ok tonight...I hope he doesn't swell much...lol...and I miss my little man!
