I thought I did sufficient research when I began looking for reputable boxer breeders in Florida. There are so many factors when trying to choose a breeder to invest in and as you will see as you scan various boxer breeder websites, it truly is an investment. So if you have decided not to go with a rescue, be sure to ask your potential breeder the hard questions: what happens if my puppy dies from no neglect of my own? What limitations do you put on your guarantee? Ask your breeder if their contract differs in any way from Florida state regulations. (ie. do you require the puppy to be taken to my vet less than 14 days after purchase?) - big warning sign. I purchased a puppy from Autumn Springs Boxers in Jacksonville, Florida. She died on the fourth day after purchase, Autumn Springs Boxers requires you take your new puppy to your vet within 2 days of purchase or entire contract is void. They did nothing to remedy this tragic situation.

Autumn Springs seems to be a pretty big backyard breeder in Florida that pumps out a lot of puppies. I'm sorry your puppy passed so quickly. If you are looking for another puppy anytime I can give you links to responsible breeders who will test for heart issues along with other issues and provide a quality contract they will honor.

4 days! That is horrible!!!! So sorry for you loss. Even if you can't get a guarantee from them, I would blast your story everywhere that you could and warn as many people as possible.

We had to have Wyatt at the vet within the first 72 hours or contract was voided.

Also yesterday I had been looking at all his records and saw that the akc gives you a few free months of they pet insurance but it was the same thing, pup had to be taken to vet within the first 72 hours. I think it's pretty much the standard.
This comment is not to sound mean but,
had you got the pup to the vet in the first 48 hrs the breeder is required to refund your money or put you on the list for another litter, again whatever is stated on your contract.

I'm sorry you endured this loss.

I got Brutus in Mims, Florida....if you are buying a pet, I highly recommend these people. I don't know anything about show dogs though....
There's shouldn't be a difference between a pet puppy litter and a show puppy litter.
IMO, if a breeder says they only breed "pet quality" puppies, you should walk away.

Actually it's for your benefit that you bring the pup to be checked out by a vet that knows Boxers Auscultation .
I had to return a pup once many years ago.. Do your homework and again do not expect a beauty health wise for byb prices.
e-mail me I'm in the sunshine state, but do not make that a limit for yourself. You have until March 15th for a fight in. Heat restrictions and so forth.
