My DH and his business partner started their own company a few years back and are looking for a company or person to design a new web page for them.  Since I am a stay at home mom and they are on the road all day running the businees they have asked me to reasearch this for them.

Does anyone here have a clue where I should even begin to find this info for them???

I'd go with Yahoo Small Business. I use it... even though I don't really do
business on it. Though they have great marketing tools for businesses and great ways to promote your website.

http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/

It has a great program called Y! Site Builder which allows you to make a web site without having to know html. You can check out my website on my signature. It's cheap too... I pay $11 bucks a month which includes:

(Hosting Starter)
24/7 toll-free phone support
Domain name
5GB of disk space
200GB Data transfer/month (bandwidth)
Snapshot backup and restore
Advanced scripting - PHP, Perl & MySQL
200 Business Mail email accounts
2GB of Email storage per account
20MB Message attachment size limit

I was thinking about upgrading to the Hosting Standard which is $14 bucks every two months:

24/7 toll-free phone support
Domain name
10GB of disk space
400GB Data transfer/month (bandwidth)
Snapshot backup and restore
Advanced scripting - PHP, Perl & MySQL
500 Business Mail email accounts
2GB of Email storage per account
20MB Message attachment size limit

Plus if you wanted that program its free.

If you do visit my website... I'm trying to fix it. I reformatted my computer and uploaded the site onto Windows Vista and not XP Pro like I use to have. I guess it didn't like Vista so much so... the text is the wrong font and a completely different size... does NOT look right. I'm annoyed cuz' I have a lot of webpages I'm going to have to fix.

I use the templates from that program... they have all kinds of stuff. You should definitely check it out. Oh and my brother has Hilbig Technologies which he designs and runs peoples websites for them. His is http://www.hilbigfamily.com

*** My brothers website doesn't seem to be coming up but that is the right address... it might be down for maintence... I'll call him and ask.

When they purchased their domain anmd they got a free web page but they aren't really happy with it and want something more professional.
They want to create the look of a bigger more established company.  That will attract customers and encourage a feeling of reliability and trust.

Their current site is http://weedpro.com/  blah blah boring!!!

I like this one http://crawford-landscaping.com/
and this one http://customlawns.biz/

It's not a very big company but it is growing rapidly.  They want the web page to be more effective in actually getting customers to request that free estimate.

Those are nice... the last one too! A great thing for them too is to have a section of before and after pics... to show how good of a job they do. Are they doing landscaping or just yard work? My brother does GREAT WEBSITES... and already has several satisfied customers He said he's actually updating the pricing guide on his website and states that talking to him about it would give a better understanding. If you or your husband are interested give him a call 210-323-9795.

Here's a pic of one of the lawn style templates they have on that yahoo site builder program. All you have to do is double click the boxes to add text... or hit the little img button to add an image... it's really simple I thought.

Dh and his partner are already using a template style web page and want something more custom and professional.

I did send your brother an e-mail with Dh's current web page and several that I have found that i would like to immulate.

I am hoping to hear back from him soon and see what he thinks he can do for us and how much he would charge

I looked up the design firm that created the two web pages I really like
http://www.graphicd-signs.com/html/webport_landscapers.htm

if you look at several of the pages they have created you can see how similar many of them are.  It should be easy to create a template of my own to work from in creating the page I want.
