My two puppies are just a little over 20 lbs and there 4 months old, is that abnormal? we went to the vet for boosters and they said they were a little under weight, i just thought they would be bigger by now.
They are feed 3 times a day and eat like pigs. should i give them more food?

I suggest not increasing the amount of food because he is still hungry. Dogs should not really feel full after they have eaten. I know it is very tempting to give your dog more when they give you that look. Once you start that it may never end. The most important thing about weight and pups and young dogs is that their bones are not yet fully developed; they are still growing so we don’t want them being overweight that might cause problems with their bones later. You should be able to see their ribs, not skinny like but slender.

Do you have any pics?

Weight

You can not compare your puppies weight to other puppies weight because your puppy may be smaller boned smaller in size all the way around so would not be the same weight as another 20 week old puppy. The weight is really low but our first boxer was super tiny she was the runt and small even for that. My concern would be that the vet said she was under weight not small. You may want to discuss with your vet supplements or a higher quality food because like some of the other posts said you do not want to just stuff the puppy you want the puppy to get quality fat. As a puppy this is very important. Really do your research and make sure you are feeding a quality diet I have people say all the time I feed a really good food I feed X brand and that is a medium level ok food but a much better food would do the dog a lot better.

I feel like there is a new thread exactly like this every time I turn around. All pups are different, comparing doesn't really do you any good. Now if you put up a picture and asked if your pup looked under weight then we could actually give an opinion. And not all vets understand want a lean dog is, they personally would like to have a heftier dog so they tell you they need to gain weight. Boxers are not hefty dogs.

This is Ries at 6 months

I started him on Solid Gold Wolf Cub, but he didn't seem to like it much. I now have him on Acana Grasslands & Halo Spots Stew. I mix both of those together & he loves it . I also quite often buy him liver & beef roasts(cooked) & freeze it in portions to give him occasionally to add extra protein.
*We take him to the dog park every day for at least an hour or 2, so he gets alot of exercise too.

Boxers are a lean, active breed. I got my boy at 6 months & he was 45 lbs, my girl was 4 months and 22lbs. I took both of them in for complete physical's (at seperate times) the vet looked at them, looking all ribs and legs, and said almost the exact same thing for both of them. "Don't let anyone make you think they are too skinny, this is an athletic breed and this is how they look as pups, they will fill out" And sure enough, Dodger is 10 months old now and you can see his ribs but they don't stick out anymore, he's filling out nicely - almost 70 lbs now!!! If they're eating, and have a healthy looking coat and lots of energy when playing - don't worry, they'll fill out. :)
