No expert, but I believe that some are contagious.
A friend of mine just got 2 boxer puppies. We were planning a play date tonight, but I just got an email that one of her puppies has worms and has to go to the vet and get on some medication. I do not plan on bringing Tyson over there anymore, but I was still just wondering.
Yes, worms are transmitted via stools of other infected dogs or cats, and heartworms are transmitted from mosquitos.

Yeah I think they are. When Bella had worms I wormed the other dogs also.
They will spread from one to another.....all except tapeworms and heartworms....

I thought heartworms were contagious?
They are not contagious in the way that one dog can give them/pass them to another. It is contracted by a mosquito and it must bite an infected dog and then bite the other dog to infect them.Bellasmomma\";p=\"29619 said:I thought heartworms were contagious?
