Default Doggie day care

OK gonna throw this out there... any of you on here take your pups to doggie day care? If you do have you ran into any situations where your dog had scratches and cuts on them when you picked them up?

Trying to gauge whether or not I have unrealistic expectations for "monitored play"

And when I say scratches and cuts I mean to the neck and under chin, throat area from what was described as another dog with razor sharp teeth and rough play . Which was apparently allowed to go on for awhile from looks of my girl.

LOL ... Boxers in Day Care! I have no idea what happened here?? How is your dog behaving after you pick her up??

If she's fine ... then most likely any injuries are caused by her. Lot's of Daycares don't want to deal with Boxers! Boxers are usually the first dogs asked ... not to come back!

Spinning, circling other dogs at high speed, punching them in the face (Boxers) and trying to knock them over ... depending on who they play with yeah there gonna get marked up.

Most Doggie Daycares, don't want the hassle ... take your dog and don't come back ... Thank You.

Not saying that is the case here ...but most likely it is a factor.

Chip I was quite sure you would be responding...lol...
Actually I think I have such high expectations as I normally take her to facility where she goes to training for day care and it is a completely different atmosphere. Took her yesterday out of necessity to a place she has been before.

And I get the whole boxer handful as she is all puppy ...

I take my dog to day care one every week or two. I've had no problems with them asking me not to come back, having scratches, etc. They say she is very even tempered and one of the easier dogs. However, she lives in a house with 3 other smaller dogs one being a puppy. I take her to play with "the big dogs." They put them in groups of their temperament since they don't want dogs to fail. So far so good.

We take ours to day care occasionally, with no problems. They are popular with the staff and love it there. I like that there are live webcams in every play area so I can poke in and watch how things are going. I have seen them isolate dogs in a "time out" ... Including my two once ... If they feel things are getting too rough. They didn't make a big deal of it and mine were happy as usual when I picked them up and happy to go back they next day. There are quite a few boxers there too which I think helps.

OK so I see The Blammos post and the place I took her also has live cams which I watched and saw the employee seperate them once then turn his back and got out the gate and do other things not paying much attention. That is where my issue really comes in. The marks are not from what appears one minor overzealous moment.

As for her temperament I have been told by her trainer and staff that she has the best boxer personailty. She loves people and loves to play , play,play..

Yes I bring my dog to day care once or twice a week and I don't have a problem with it. He really loves it. It helps them to socialize with the other.

I also get daycare for my Dog Ronny. I live in Middlesex and there is an amazing dog care facility called Camp Bow Wow.
I have been getting service from them for a year but never experienced anything like this. Every time I find my puppy happier.

Maybe you should try changing your daycare. Try some professional and reliable services.

I used daycare for my previous dog Jaxson and he loved it! There were sometimes 3 other boxers to play with but he absolutely loved it. I enjoyed all the artwork he "made" for me there and now he is gone I have those wonderful pictures he "made" for me I treasure each of them. He got to get a lot of good socialization there too. I was only told once that they had a problem with him and really I think it was the other dog but he would come home with scratches on him sometimes but I know they play rough. The current boxers I have now are young my female has been to daycare she was on the shy side about it because she is a submissive dog my current male has never been since he is not neutered yet the vet recommends waiting until he is 15mos old.
