Talking Considering fostering/adopting boxer mix

Hi all,

I have never owned a boxer but have a friend who owns one and she's a wonderful dog. I've signed up with a local foster care agency and they've asked me to take a boxer mix. I need to know more before I can decide if she'd be a good fit for our family...
1) Are they easy to house train?

2) I know they do well with children in their own families, but are they good with visiting children? My kids have friends in and out of the house constantly and I don't want to lock up our dog for friends to come in the house.

3) She (bella the boxer mix) is 5 years old. How old are they when they start getting health issues, in general.

4) Are they barkers? I have a 4 year old who naps and I have to keep my current dog on the other side of the house so he doesn't bark at people passing by and wake her up.

5) Do they take every opportunity to bolt from the home? My previous dog would zip by us and out the front door and it would run run run like it was a game. Our current dog stays close to us so we can have him off leash on our acre property.

6) Exercise: I walk 4 miles every other day. would this be enough to keep her content?
What do you think. It would be a foster situations and we would adopt if things went well. I just don't know a whole lot about the breed.
