Default Looking for a reputable breeder

Hello,

I am new to the Boxer Forum, but not Boxers. I have had a boxer in my family for the last 23 years. We recently had to put down Murray. We adopted Murray from The Florida Boxer Rescue in 2006. Murray had a little sister Molly (a 3 yr old Boston) and 2 brothers Drew & Jake(16 & 9 yr old humans). They are lost without him, and we have come to the conclusion that our family is not complete without a boxer.

That being said, I am looking for a reputable breeder in Florida, preferably Central Florida. I have searched on the internet, and have seen several breeders in Florida with impressive websites, only to read reviews on this forum that say stay away(but some of those reviews are old).

I would appreciate any feedback on any Fl breeders or guidance on how to find reputable breeders in Florida.

Thanks.

I think there are a lot of BYB's in Fla, disguised as reputable breeders??? If your willing to fly a puppy in or drive a distance it would expand your options!

Do a google search for health tested boxer breeders in Florida.
Find one and contact them about the health testing they perform.
If you are satisfied with what they test for but don't have any puppies or puppies expected soon they will usually be able to refer you to other reputable breeders that do health testing.

Thanks for the info. I have expanded my search, and am considering putting a deposit down with Euroboxx Boxers or Big Mac Boxers, I really like the European Boxers. I ave read a lot of good reviews about them. I spoke on the phone with Tara from EuroBoxx and was really impressed with everything she had to say. Any feedback on either of these breeders is greatly appreciated.

The Euro bred Boxers seem to be in vogue now! There are strict breeding requirements for breeders who are members of the US Boxer Association. I'd look at their website to see if either of these kennels actually are walking the walk. Most good Euro kennels have owners who have experience training, and putting working titles on their own dogs. Some others just seem to like to insinuate they are working their working Boxers.

I did see the specs on the Female Euro's they are freaking huge! Think I saw 80 lbs for the girls??? That would dwarf my Struddell at 65 lbs.

I have been seeing more Euro/Americans in NV (where I am.) Big heads but I don't think the bodies are as heavy as a full Euro. And I have to say I have been impressed! I have found them very easy and willing in training and just as goofy as my girl come time to play!

I have not had a chance to work with any of the girl Euros however. So I'd say the Euros half Euros seem to have more of an off switch with the Goofy??

I still lean towards the full American Lines in a Boxer but I guess I'm starting to think, as long as it's a Boxer...I'm good!

Just checking if you went with Euro Boxx? We were looking at them as well.

Chip I had a 100% American girl " TuRo" lines that was 91lbs not a fatty either. She was just as big as my male at the time.
