Default Allergies?

We recently adopted a 7 year old male boxer from the humane society and after visiting our vet we have discovered that he has allergies. I am thinking that we will start with his food in trying to discover what he may be allergic to.
Has anyone else got any ideas in finding out what is getting to our boxer?

Science diet Adult 6+ Large Breed is what the humane society was feeding him. They had him for 4 days and since we have gotten him his runny nose has progressively gotten worse. We have had him for 3 days.

My 1yr old Romu, started with runny nose and then hives. I would give Benadryl since her face will swollen up. The vet told me it was the food, so I changed the food and the allergy still showed up. I changed her soap, then treats, etc it was so bad,my dog was tested for mange.
I try a system of elimination. At the end I find out my dog Romu is allergic to mosquitos bites!
The vet told me that if I wasn't able to find the allergen, they will test her for allergies.
Hope this helps you!

Well Science Diet is not a very good food so I agree changing his food is a good place to start. The main protein source in that particular SD formula is chicken. I would start with a totally different protein source for your next food, but introduce slowly

Excellent thoughts. I have already started to change his food over slowly to Taste of the Wild High Prairie. Time will tell.
Thanks for your replies.
