I’ll definitely transition Rockets food more smoothly in the future. Have done it with Max several times (over 5 different dog foods), each with a 2-3 week process. Something was just completely amiss with Rockets tummy from the get go.

About grain free food and the relation to DCM, yes I looked at soooo many articles on it. I am not an expert now, but it sounds like there’s something there. Here’s a link I read, that I remember https://vetnutrition.tufts.edu/2018/11/dcm-update/. So much information, so many choices, and our little pups deal with our decisions .
I’ll try and be careful for sure. Thanks all

Oh and Royal Canin is what keeps my old boy Max from diarrhea and skin allergies (he was losing hair for a while! Crazy, huh?) So it actually may “be” crap compared to other, “better” dog food, but then it keeps my old puppy happy and healthy and stable. So we are good with it. Just not always good with the cost of it lol.

Good looking boys.

My guy was on BB when I got him and he was doing real good on it so I just kept using it. Then when he was about a year old he decided he wasn't going to eat it anymore. Now I do Acana and raw mixed in.

Only thing I would add is definitely switch over slowly and try not changing brands quickly if you don't see results right away. Sometimes it could take a couple weeks before everything settles down. Especially if its been 3 different formulas in a couple weeks for a pup. You could also try adding a little bit of canned pumpkin to the kibble to firm up the stool. Just make sure the only ingredient on the can is pumpkin, with nothing else added.

LOL... well, it ain't a Party till somebody's ticked off?? R/C is kind of an average dog food, that is over priced and can be a hassle to procure?? I suppose I could have just said that ... but that sounds "Boring!"

Over Priced Crap, is a lot more dramatic and I do have a flare for the dynamic ... my bad???

And I did understand that your puppy does not have "Crystal's." But your vet see's a lot of puppies with Crystal's??

I have never seen or heard of UTI's, in dog's but hey I'm not a Vet. but your Vet seems to see a lot of cases?? And from there ... yeah admittedly, I made the "ASSUMPTION" that she was causing it?? And yeah ... my bad!

I suppose I could have "ASKED" why are you using "Blue Buffalo??" But you know ... "asking" Questions, is not my usual style ....

And my "assumption" was based on the fact that if you use R/C S/O to treat "Crystal's" your "pet" will be on it for life! R/C is the only one that makes that particular combo, it treats both kinds of Crystals.

Now, I will still say that it is "over priced" and can be a hassle to purchase. But I will defer to Dog Adviser to back that claim up.

Moving on ... the Grain Free (Fad) and the now missing Taruine, issues seen in dog's and DCM issue's?? Yeah that does seem to be a thing?? But it can be easily solved with a can of sardines once a week or you know just "supplement" a meal once a week with "Sardines" or you know ... a can of "Cat Food."And most likely problem solved.

For more on Taruine stuff see here as it does seem to be a thing "now??"

Now I did say "also" that if your dog has a specific, "Medical Need" if R/C has a formulation ... that is the way to go!! They do seem to have "Medical need" dialed in no doubt.

Technically your first post is suppose to be in the "Welcome Forum."

And that would be here.:
https://www.boxerforums.com/welcome-boxer-forums/

And you introduce yourself and your dog. Three post there and your open to post anywhere here. But her I say ... it's like our local Dog Park. "Open from Sun rise to Sun Set." But hey if they don't wanna bother to pad lock the gate, (at sundown) I'm not gonna bother to care. Welcome aboard.
