Gentle leader

Chip18 I feel like some of your posts are accusatory and not necessary, blaming the owner who just wants help. I, for one use the "halti"- it is the gentle leader but with a soft pad around the nose piece. I have NEVER had any reactivity or aggression in my boxer. When he was little and we were training, it was recommended to me by a couple different trainers. He didn't like it at first, but he does great with it now. He has never been leash reactive or aggressive to anyone on our walks, but we have had unleashed dogs come up and try to attack us. For this reason, I use the leave it command on our walks. I think the halti is great because keeping control of the head keeps a lot easier control of their whole body. He doesn't pull and has learned to respect me a whole lot more. I highly recommend it, but yes - like anything- it has to be used correctly and you have to know how to do your part with leading your dog using the halti- there has to be slack in your leash- it can't be tight all the time. Everyone has their own method that works, but please remember the rules on this forum. Thank you.
