I am not accusing anyone of anything?? I am simply saying "any tool" improperly used can be abused! The leash or "whatever" has to be loose, the dog has to be under threshold. You said the same thing.
If the OP is use to pulling and tugging on the dog and does the same thing with the GL, it "could hurt her dog." I did not say it would and I don't "know" if they do that?
The "theory is redirection, forces compliance, with the GL!" If it's a "soft" dog most likely it'll work just fine. If used as intended with the right owner and the right dog no problem!
But there are consequences to it's improper use. That's what I pointed out and offered an "alternative" approach that did not involve a purchase. Only time and patience!
I also explained one possible reason why anyone that walks there dogs with "tools" will see well behaved dogs "disappear" as they approach??
We cross the street or step aside when we see dogs approach "tools," are not in my case. My dogs will wait calmly by my side and I will say "nice dog" or smile!
Those dogs get there space and my dogs stay safe,it's a win for everybody!
Not really sure what board rules that breaks??
